Recognizing Our Achievements
Since the inception of the Sequoia Park Zoo Foundation in 2004 we have worked successfully as a philanthropic partner with the City of Eureka to assist in their master plan vision for the Zoo supporting conservation, education and future economic development.
We help to strategically address all fundraising while assisting with the development of projects, providing grant support, developing and maintaining the website and providing communications and marketing including social media. We also organize and implement all special events.
We now find ourselves in our most challenging time and we need your help to continue to provide the Zoo the philanthropic support it needs to continue to fulfill its short and long term vision. The pandemic’s effect on the Zoo, including a 4-Month closure, has led to great revenue loss and a resulting decline in membership. We are diligently working to reinvigorate our membership base and are looking forward to the opening of the Redwood Sky Walk to bring new visitors into the Zoo and support increased admission revenue.
We are so appreciative of all of our donors, event supporters and volunteers over the years, thank you so much for supporting the work we do on behalf of the Sequoia Park Zoo!

From the Zoo Foundation President:
On behalf of the Sequoia Park Zoo Foundation (SPZF) Board of Directors, I thank you for being part of the Zoo community that represents our Sequoia Park Zoo members and contributors and I look forward to our future together.
I also would like to acknowledge the huge challenges all of us have faced in 2020. It has been a difficult time for many nonprofit organizations and SPZF was not immune from those difficulties. Throughout this year, the Foundation has needed to adapt to these trying times by making operational and staffing adjustments to keep the work of the Zoo Foundation moving forward positively as it has done in the past. Our current staff have taken on these challenges successfully and continue to forge our path forward through hard work and dedication to our Zoo’s future.
We have great things on the horizon such as the opening of the Redwood Sky Walk and the construction of the Bear/Coyote Exhibit; through our community partnerships and strategic planning we were fortunate enough to have the projects fully funded before the pandemic crisis. That being said, our organization still faces significant financial challenges. In these unforeseen times, we are looking forward to working closely with our community to ensure our fiscal stability and the continued success of our Zoo & Foundation. We need the ongoing support of our entire Zoo Membership and the Flamingo Society to fulfill our mission.
We extend our gratitude to those of you who have attended our events, contributed your time and demonstrated your financial support in so many ways. Thank you!
